Verki Puri

Description

A crispy and flaky snack recipe made with plain flour, pepper and cumin. it is an ideal snack recipe prepared especially during the festival season of Diwali and Ganapati Chaturthi. having said that it is also a popular jar snack and can be prepared and served for the day-to-day with a cup of tea or coffee. Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Maida – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • Black sesame seeds – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as required

Method

  • Take maida in a bowl, then add salt to taste, cumin powder, black sesame seeds, oil and mix everything properly. Flour should have crumble texture.
  • Hold shape between hand like this. Now add water as you required to knead a dough. Again ad splash of water and knead tight and smooth dough.
  • Now, cover and rest it for 25 minutes. Open it and grease once with oil and knead it again.
  • Make two parts, then take one dough ball make a round shape and roll it with rolling pin.
  • Then apply clarified butter (ghee) on it and sprinkle maida. Now roll it gently. Cut them into small pieces.
  • Separate them and transfer in a plate. Take one piece and press it gently. Roll it gently and keep it aside. Same way prepares other puri’s.
  • Heat up the oil in a wok, add puri and fry on low flame. Fry till they turn into golden brown in colour. Take them out.
  • Crispy Verki Puri is ready to serve. Finally, enjoy verki puri stored in an airtight container for a month.
