Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Onions 4-5 medium size
  • Green chillies 1 tbsp.
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp.
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder ½ tbsp.
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp.
  • Dry mango powder(Amchur Powder) 1 tsp.
  • Garam masala a pinch
  • Black salt a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp.
  • Fresh cilantro 2 tbsp.
  • Gram flour 1 cup
  • Oil for frying
  • Rice flour 4 tbs.

Method

  • Slice the onion length wise
  • The slice should not be too thin or too thick
  • The layers of onion should separate from each other
  • Take them in a bowl, add ginger garlic paste, chillies and cilantro
  • Add spices chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, raw mango powder(amchur powder) and garam masala
  • Mix them well, add black salt, salt and let the onions rest for 2 minutes
  • Add gram flour and rice flour
  • Mix it well and coat the onions with flour
  • Fry the bhajis when the oil is hot enough
  • Let is fry on medium heat
  • Let the outer layer of bhajis set well before stirring
  • Fry on medium flame till bhajis turn crisp and golden brown
  • Take out the bhajis from oil
