Ingredients & Method


  • Yellow moong dal 1 cup
  • Green Chillies 2-3
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Salt to taste
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Crushed black pepper 1 tsp.
  • Cilantro ¼ cup
  • Oil


  • Take yellow moong dal in a bowl, wash it and soak it for 4-5 hours
  • Now grind the dal, add green chillies, ginger
  • Grind it to coarse mixture
  • Take coarse mixture in a bowl, add salt, asafoetida, black pepper, cilantro
  • Mix it well with a whisker, till the batter becomes light and fluffy
  • Heat oil in a pan at medium flame, add vadas to fry
  • Once vada turns golden brown from one side turn it to the other side
  • Hot dal vada are ready to serve
